Here is a behind the scenes look at N.E.R.D at a photoshoot for their upcoming album “Nothing”. The trio consist of Chad, Shae, and Pharrell. The album is said to have shyed away from the usual party hard anthems we have come accustomed to getting from N.E.R.D but has instead we should expect more love, heartbreak and excitement songs. This is afterall a pharrell inspired album so we expect the production to be nothing to sleep on.

Everyone knows Pharrell Williams as the Mogul he rightfully is for his endeavors in the music industry with Star Trek Music and his group the Neptunes. Pharrell also runs a very successful clothing line Billionaires Boys Clothing, but his latest achievement with one of a kind furniture is also catching the attention of many.

Pharrell first launched the first pieces of furniture art back in 2008, but this past Monday the 22 of March he launched the latest piece the tank chair as pictured above at the Collette store in Paris.

Prospective buyers will have a chance to see the chair at the store until the 28th.

If you look back a decade or two ago with hip hop music at a steady rise, and the whole attitude and fashion sense that came with it, you can see that urban fashion is directly linked with the culture.

Hip hop music and the culture itself is known for trend setting, meaning that it has the power to pursue massive amounts of people to look, act or even think a certain way.

Fashion is one of the biggest aspects of this culture. Many trends have come and gone, like wearing your jeans backwards {which I was never “in style” anyway} wearing a baseball hat with your outfit {Fitted hats}.

The one trend that is slowly but surely going out of style is baggy clothing. There was a time period especially in the southern states of America were urban fashion was thought of as extremely baggy jeans and tall t-shirts that reached almost to your knees. This was considered cool for a while and everybody was into it. Rappers dressed this way so their fans followed by doing the same.

Presently, the situation has changed. The new rappers are more edgy and style conscious. They wear and embrace more fitting clothing, some more fitting than others. A good and recent example will be Soulja boy pictured above, he exploded onto the hip hop scene with his hit song “crank dat”, and he was well known for his dancing, big t-shirts, baggy jeans, and trademark shades. Recently the new Soulja boy has been pictured wearing more fitting clothing {maybe with all his money he got a stylist}.

Rappers like Tyga and Kanye have been dressing this way for a while, but arguments can be made that other rappers like Pharrell Williams and even Jim Jones greatly influenced this switch in urban culture.

This phenomenon has also changed the way urban fashion designers design and showcase their clothing to their buyers. Their clothes are slimmer and promote more of a gentleman’s look, not that of a thuggish individual. Follow Me
