Leggings, quite simply one of the most flattering piece of clothing a woman can wear. Leggings are any form fitting clothing that is worn to cover your legs. They have come a long way since first being introduced to the world as two separated pieces worn on each leg.

Leggings were first introduced in the 1800s and was used my various military units as a way of protecting themselves from the harsh terrains during combat. It was worn by both men and when, and it extended from your waist down to your toes. Source Wiki

It was not until the early 1960 that leggings were being worn in gymnasiums as exercise clothing and later on the streets as a new fashion trend. Fashionable leggings are usually made from a combination of Cotton and Lycra,  which allows designers to be more creative with the design and gave the product a tougher material, avoiding holes and ripping when being worn.

Leggings made a big comeback in 2005 and have been very visible ever since. With the help of celebrities and stylist alike, leggings are a must in every girls’ closet. Not only are leggings very fashionable and can flatter even the most unflattering figures if worn correctly, there are unlimited ways of pairing your leggings with other pieces of clothing that would make you stand out from the crowd.

Polo by Ralph Lauren one of America’s most successful fashion brands, once donned by preppy school kids from the suburbs, is rapidly being seen as the clothing of choice for local inner city kids and young adults who now accept the brand as a stylish look.

Polo Ralph Lauren, which should not be confused with U.S. Polo Assn. was founded by Ralph Lifschitz now known as Ralph Lauren in 1967. Both Polo by Ralph Lauren and U.S. Polo have similar logos as seen in the pictures to the left and above, but Polo by Ralph Lauren has one Jockey and a horse instead of  two.

From songs to music videos, Polo has been getting a lot of free promotion from hip hop and R&B artist alike. Some would say Kanye West shone the light for Polo to the urban community during his days of wearing pink Polos with the collars up, to a southern rapper like Young Dro who almost is synonymous in the rap industry and to his fans with wearing outfits that are completely made by Ralph Lauren.

This fashion change has cleaned up the look of various artist from T.I. and Ludacris to various others as well as the listeners and fans of these artist, but the craze has also brought a negative aspect in that some people over do it to the point were its not tasteful anymore. Some people emphasize on wearing only the Polo outfits with the most logos, sizes too big or too small, or really bright colors to the point were the look switches from classy to tacky.

Recently you might have heard a certain Hip Hop Rapper, Nicki Minaj using the phrase “Harajuku Barbie” on her interviews or typed it on her twitter page, but the first big star that really popularized the word in the United States, and even made a song with her dancers “The Harajuku Girls” was Gwen Stefani. Gwen Stefani is a fashion icon in her own right, so it was only right she brought the term to light over here.

According Japan Guide, “Harajuku refers to the area around Tokyo’s Harajuku Station, one station north of Shibuya on the Yamanote Line”. This area is a well known spot for Japanese teenagers and their extreme sense of fashion and cultural style.

Harajuku is a fashion haven for teenagers and adults alike who enjoy shopping the various stores the streets provide, from trendy high priced garments, to used clothing, to very colorful attire that has become synonymous with the Harajuku kids and their lifestyle. Harajuku is a big fashion district with trendy designer stores like Louis Vuitton, and a lot of designer use the street culture and fashion sense as inspiration for their designs.

If you ever find yourself in Japan, make sure you go down to the Harajuku on a Sunday to witness “Costume Play”. The Harajuku kids stroll around the streets with outfits, most often with vibrant colors, second hand clothing, and mismatching, making them resemble Anime characters, Heavy Metal musicians, Movie Stars etc. The also known for their Gothic, kera and tune looks.

Well I am sure every Kobe or sports fan out there knows the Lakers won the 2009 NBA championship. This is the fifteenth championship in Lakers’ history and Kobe’s forth championship ring. We all know the story of Shaquille O’neal saying Kobe could not win a championship without him with Kobe proving him wrong.

The bigger story lately was Lebron James who was was spotted rocking a RUN DMC style inspired t-shirt, you know the one with the red bars above and below the group name, but instead Lebron James chose to market himself with the shirt saying LBJ MVP.

I personally don’t see anything wrong with the t-shirt and i think its a dope concept but i can understand why some people take it wrongly because even though Lebron James was MVP, he could not lead his team to the NBA championship ring.

We can flip the script now because Kobe did win the championship  and has his own shirt. I know you have either seen or heard of the puppet commercials featuring Kobe and Lebron as roommates. Well Kobe’s t-shirt is inspired by that. The shirt has Kobe’s puppet hand with four rings on all puppet fingers representing his four NBA championships.
